Thomas Peterson
Chapman University Doctoral Student: Educational Leadership Studies
Orange County, CA
I have been working in education for nearly 10 years: a teacher for eight. Currently, I teach seventh grade English at a middle school in Orange County, CA. For the first five years of my career, I taught varying levels of ELA (ELD to AP) at a charter high school in South Los Angeles. Many of my research interests reside in the field of urban education. Through my doctoral work, I aim to contribute to to the field by addressing challenges from a leadership perspective; more specifically, how can institutions of higher education better prepare future leaders with the social, cultural, and political, understanding needed to ensure that all students receive an equitable and excellent education.
